  • MUSLIM STREET & GREAT MOSQUEThis neighborhood started to develop into a food street in the late 1990s as a result of the numerous Muslim restaurant run there. The famous Great Mosque, one of China's four oldest mosques with a history spanning more than a thousand years, is located here.
  • BIG WILD GOOSE PAGODALegend has it that Xuanzhuan, the Tang Sanzang monk from Journey to the West, directed the construction of the pagoda to protect the Buddhist sutras that had been brought from ancient India over the Silk Road.
  • HANYANG TOMBBuilt in 153 BC, the sixth emperor of the Han Dynasty (202 BC–8 AD) and his empress are both buried in the cemetery together. The 60-centimeter-tall, naked, armless terracotta warriors which were discovered here are very notable.
  • ANCIENT CITY WALLWith a length of 13.74 kilometers, the ancient defensive wall in the center of Xi'an is the longest and finest maintained in China. It was initially built by ramming soil mixed with lime and sticky rice. Later, its exterior was coated in black bricks, making it extremely defensive.
  • TERRACOTTA WARRIORSTerracotta Warriors are the grave goods of ancient emperors. In ancient China, after the death of slave owners, their slaves were killed and sacrificed with them. In the Qin Dynasty (221 BC - 207 BC), the system of human sacrifice was officially abolished. After the death of the First Emperor of Qin, pottery and wooden figurines were used to replace living people for burial. In March 1974, the Terracotta Warriors were discovered. In 1987, the mausoleum was included on the "World Heritage List".
